Professor Taniguchi is a world leader in
City Logistics. He has published numerous books, including City Logistics -
Network Modelling and Intelligent Transport Systems (2000), Innovations in
Freight Transport (2002) and Logistics Systems for Sustainable Cities
(2004). He is the founding President of the Institute for City Logistics
that has organized 5 major international conferences since 1999.
Professor Taniguchi serves on a number of international committees, such as OECD, PIARC, EASTS and BESTUFS.
He has pioneered a number of methods for City Logistics schemes such as cooperative freight systems, public logistics terminals, information platforms and vehicle routing and scheduling systems.
