February meeting 2011

Professor Nicholas Lowe from the Centre of Governance and Management of Urban Transport (GAMUT) at University of Melbourne will talk about the centre's research and some of the key directions in transport which are important to Melbourne and to local governments.

Professor Graham Currie from the Department of Engineering at Monash University will present a research report on the transport economics of agglomeration economies which explores the very real economies and value that public transport delivers to city centres such as the Melbourne business district, which could also apply to the more local CADs and activity centres. This report is one of a series of papers that have been combined as a monograph on the Economics of Transport which will be launched in the near future.
